Attend a Ski Job Fair
Another great way to find work at American ski resorts is to attend one of the hundreds of winter resort ski job fairs held each fall. Job fairs are typically held at the hiring resort or in larger cities close to the resorts. Some resorts will also travel to major metropolitan cities and host job fairs on college campuses or at summer resort.
At the fairs, you'll be able to speak face to face with Human Resources representatives and managers from the departments that are hiring. In fact, many new applicants can get hired on the spot, get assistance with employee housing and more. Although they are typically very busy, hiring managers will be happy to spend time with applicants, answering their questions and giving them a clear understanding about what the jobs entail and what resort living is like.
Whenever you attend a resort job fair, it's a good idea to practice all of the standard job search recommendations - wear presentable clothes, bring copies of a current resume, driver's license, social security card, etc. You may just walk away with a job for the winter!
Another good place to look for work is in the classified ads - online and in print. Find the names of newspapers in resort areas by searching for "newspapers in ENTER NAME OF RESORT TOWN HERE" in Google, Bing, or Yahoo. Most ski resorts advertise seasonal and year-round positions in the classified ads and publicize upcoming job fairs. There are also a number of websites such as Skijobs411 that list jobs for all resorts.
